For 17-year-old Justin Lebowitz, baseball has been part of his life for as long as he can remember. Representing Bellmore, NY, and Mepham High School, Justin has grown into a versatile player, excelling both on the mound and in the outfield. His JCC Maccabi Games experience gave him not only memories on the field but also connections that will last a lifetime.

Justin competed in the 2025 Games, and his favorite part wasn’t a single play—it was the people. “Meeting all the other athletes” stood out most, showing him the importance of building friendships through the sport. That lesson has stuck with him. “It taught me that it’s always good to go up to someone new and get to know them,” he reflects. Representing his community and Jewish identity was equally powerful: “It meant a lot to me because it enabled me to represent my culture and my family.”

Justin has suited up for programs like the NBMM Rebels and Dodgers Nation. While he’s capable across multiple positions, he especially enjoys playing the outfield. “I love how it’s quiet in the outfield, which allows me to concentrate on my part of the game,” he explains.

His parents have been the biggest influence on his baseball journey, always encouraging and supporting him as he pursued his passion. That drive fuels his goal: “to get drafted” and continue his career in the game he loves. Off the field, Justin has ambitions too—he wants to become a day trader and flip houses, combining his determination with an entrepreneurial mindset.

When it comes to inspiration, Justin looks up to longtime Yankees pitcher Andy Pettitte, admired for his consistency, leadership, and ability to perform in big moments. And while many know Justin for his steady presence on the field, there’s another detail about him that stands out: “I’m a lefty,” he shares—a fact that makes him unique and valuable in both pitching and hitting.

Justin Lebowitz is more than just a ballplayer—he’s a leader, a teammate, and a proud representative of his culture and community. With big goals and the work ethic to match, his journey is only just beginning.
