From the local fields of Commack, New York, to representing his community on the Maccabi stage, Dylan Baron has spent nearly a decade building a baseball journey defined by skill, passion, and pride in his heritage. A versatile player for the University of Delaware, Dylan excels as a pitcher, second baseman, and right fielder, bringing leadership and grit to every team he plays for.

Dylan is no stranger to the JCC Maccabi Games, having competed in 2023, 2024, and 2025. Each year has been filled with memorable moments, but his favorite experiences came during “all of my outings and our playoff games,” when his team’s hard work came to life on the diamond.

 

More than the competition, Dylan values the friendships and sense of belonging that Maccabi has given him. “It made me feel part of a community, and we had such a great group of guys the last couple of years,” he shares. Competing on this stage has been a powerful experience for Dylan, who describes it as feeling “like I was competing in the Olympics with people who have something in common.”

Dylan’s baseball journey began nine years ago, and since then, he’s grown into a reliable player and competitor. He’s played for teams like LIB, Tsunami, and Maccabi, developing his craft and becoming a force on the mound. While he’s capable all over the field, Dylan’s heart lies in pitching: “I love being in control of the game,” he says—a testament to his poise and competitive spirit.

Dylan looks up to Javy Báez for his fearless style of play and Tarik Skubal for his dominance on the mound. These players’ energy and determination reflect Dylan’s own approach: to compete hard, enjoy the game, and make every moment count.

Though Dylan has already accomplished so much in baseball, his ultimate goal is simple: “Enjoy the game as long as I can.” Beyond the diamond, Dylan has ambitious plans to pursue a career in engineering, a field that matches his sharp mind and curiosity.

Dylan’s Maccabi journey is also deeply personal, connecting him to his Jewish identity in meaningful ways. Competing alongside other Jewish athletes has given him pride in his heritage, something he represents every time he takes the field.
