For Brandon Rosen, baseball has been an eight-year journey filled with competition, friendships, and plenty of energy. Representing Manhasset, NY, and St. Dominic High School, Brandon brought his enthusiasm to the 2026 JCC Maccabi Games, where he helped his team capture a gold medal and experienced a week he won't soon forget.

Brandon’s favorite Maccabi memory was the moment every athlete hopes to experience. “Winning the gold and celebrating on the field after with the boys” gave Brandon a memory that combined the accomplishment of winning with the excitement of celebrating alongside his teammates. After everything the team had worked for, sharing that moment together made the championship even more special.

Being part of the Sid Jacobson Hammer U17 Maccabi team also introduced Brandon to people he never expected to meet. “It impacted me by helping me make new friends that I never would have expected, even from different countries.” The friendships he formed showed Brandon how the Maccabi Games can bring athletes together from places and backgrounds that might otherwise never intersect.

Representing his community and Jewish identity was something Brandon had never experienced on this scale. “It meant a lot. I’ve never represented something that big in my life.” Wearing the Maccabi uniform gave him the opportunity to compete for something larger than himself and proudly represent his community and Jewish heritage.

Brandon has been playing baseball for eight years and has played for his high school and Team Beast. His primary position is third base, where he brings plenty of personality and energy to the field. One of his favorite moments comes after a strikeout, when he gets to make the throw around the horn. “I love the throw down on a strikeout because it gets everyone fired up.” It's a small part of the game, but one that captures Brandon’s enthusiasm and ability to energize his teammates.

His biggest influence in baseball has been his dad, who has supported him throughout his baseball journey and helped him develop both his skills and his love for the game.

Brandon’s baseball goal is to continue playing in college. Beyond baseball, he has a simple long-term goal: retire one day. Whatever career path he ultimately chooses, Brandon understands that baseball is only one part of the journey and that there will be plenty of chapters still to come.

​

His favorite MLB player is DJ LeMahieu, a player known for his consistency, versatility, and fundamentally sound approach to the game. As a third baseman himself, Brandon has a natural appreciation for LeMahieu’s ability to make the difficult parts of baseball look easy.

​

And then there is the side of Brandon that might surprise his teammates. Away from the baseball field, he enjoys “long walks on the beach”—a decidedly different activity from firing the ball across the diamond at third base.

Brandon Rosen is more than a third baseman. He is an energetic teammate, a proud Jewish athlete, and now a Maccabi gold medalist who discovered that some of the greatest rewards of baseball aren't found in the box score. The gold medal was special, but the friendships, experiences, and pride Brandon gained from representing his community may be the memories that stay with him the longest.
