For Noah Gross, baseball has been a 12-year journey that has taught him that the game is about much more than what happens between the foul lines. Representing Plainview, NY, and the Hebrew Academy of Nassau County, Noah has developed into a versatile player who brings his passion for baseball together with his pride in his Jewish identity.

Noah competed in the 2026 JCC Maccabi Games, where his favorite part of the experience was “meeting new people.” For Noah, the opportunity to spend a week alongside Jewish athletes from different communities created an experience that extended well beyond the baseball field.

Being part of Team Maccabi also changed the way Noah viewed the sport he has loved for more than a decade. “It made me realize baseball is bigger than just a game,” he says. The friendships, experiences, and connections created through Maccabi helped Noah see how baseball can bring people together and become a vehicle for something much bigger.

That was especially true when it came to representing his Jewish identity. “It meant a lot to be able to show my Judaism through baseball.” Wearing the Maccabi uniform allowed Noah to combine two important parts of his life—his love of baseball and his Jewish faith—and proudly share both with those around him.

Noah has been playing baseball for 12 years and has played for Beast, B1 Ghost, and Plainview Little League. He contributes at both second base and pitcher, but his primary position is on the mound. “I love being involved in every pitch,” he explains. As a pitcher, Noah is never far from the action, with every pitch presenting a new challenge and another opportunity to help his team.

His biggest influence in baseball has been his dad, who has supported him throughout his baseball journey and helped him develop both his skills and his love for the game.

Looking ahead, Noah has his sights set on playing college baseball. Beyond the diamond, he hopes to become an engineer, combining his interest in academics with a career that will challenge him well into the future.

Noah draws inspiration from several MLB players, including Trevor Bauer, Adam Jones, and Gunnar Henderson. Each brings a different style and personality to the game, giving Noah multiple players to admire as he continues developing his own approach to baseball.

One thing people might not know about Noah is that he is a fully Orthodox Jew. That part of his identity makes his Maccabi experience particularly meaningful, giving him the opportunity to proudly express who he is while doing something he loves.

Noah Gross is more than a pitcher or second baseman.
